Noise barrier wall

A noise barrier is an effective way to reduce street noise. The barrier also provides a visual barrier. The barrier consists of a stone wall on the outside, with an effective noise-absorbing material installed inside.
In suitable locations, this can also be used as a foundation for another barrier.

Noise barrier concept that saves time, money and the environment

The stone gabion noise barrier was commercialized in the fall of 2017. Our noise barrier is by far the best value for money. Sound attenuation is 33dB and sound absorption is 5dB, measured according to the latest EN 1793-6 and -5 standards. The noise barrier has no sound-leakage seams at the base or vertical supports. The rough surface absorbs sound effectively on both sides of the fence. In addition, the large mass of the noise barrier filters sound better. However, the pressure on the ground is only as much as the pressure from walking.
Depending on the site, we can manufacture up to 100m of fence per day with one machine. This way, the inconvenience to settlements and traffic is as minimal as possible.

The most environmentally friendly noise barrier option

The carbon footprint is only a fraction of that of other noise barriers. Other materials than stone can be used as filling materials, for example, a noise barrier made of recycled concrete binds CO2, acting as a carbon sink. The overall carbon footprint is then positive. Construction generates fewer CO2 emissions than the barrier can bind. The product is 100% recyclable.

Versatile and combinable

There are many options for architects. The fence can be stepped, raised, lowered and curved. It works well as a support for climbing plants and the surface can be decorated with, for example, wooden edging if desired. The fence can also be combined with, for example, a wooden fence or a transparent fence.

By far the most affordable noise barrier solution

Our most significant competitive advantage in noise barriers is its superior price. The SSTec noise barrier can be installed for up to 70% less than competing products.
In infrastructure construction, the total costs are also affected by the reduction in transportation. The foundation of the noise barrier is only made of load-bearing soil. It can be made from crushed stone obtained directly from the construction site. Mass exchange is minimal as less soil is transported away. The crushed stone for the foundations and the stone material needed to build the fence itself are obtained from a short distance.

A solution suitable for all soils grounds

With the lightening elements developed in collaboration with Leca Finland and Ramboll, a stone noise barrier can be built on all soils, including soft sites. Costs are kept under control and the construction of the noise barrier is quick.

Longest life cycle

Our noise barriers have a life cycle of up to 100-200 years and are completely maintenance-free throughout their entire life cycle. The already most affordable noise barrier solution in terms of life cycle costs is now even more affordable. Compared to some noise barriers, life cycle costs can be up to 6 times cheaper.

Did you know that this stone gabion fence can also be implemented mechanically if necessary?

If the site is large or you need vibrated stone gabion fences, it can be easily done through us!
Vibrated stone gabion fences do not sink over time.
The end result is dense and uniform, approximately 20-30% denser than those made by hand or with an excavator.
We are the only operator in Finland that offers vibrated stone cage fences.
